Zechariah 4:6 (English Standard Version)
6Then he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD of hosts.
God has definitely grown me over the past two years. I love seeking the Lord in his Word and in prayer. His leading by the power of the Holy Spirit has stretched me as I yearn to grow to be like my Jesus.
Writing is one of my passions and I always want to keep writing. Savor the Savior has allowed me to post what the Lord has placed on my heart and share some of the evangelism experiences.
I really want to do more writing in the area of biblical application, devotional, bible study, and as the Lord leads. One goal I would like to set in my lifetime is to write one Christian book. The Lord is showing me in prayer and devotional times to dig deeper in prayer and personal bible devotions. Deeper interaction with the Lord leads to his guidance in growing to be more like Him.
I am thankful for Calvary Chapel movement in their passion for being led and empowered by the Holy Spirit. They have also a deep passion for deep study of the Bible(book by book, chapter by chapter, verse by verse, precept upon precept).
I love sharing with others my Christian faith and relationship with Jesus. Starting a new blog will allow me to write in a different format than journal my evangelism interactions with people.(I will post these interactions on my facebook Tractman fan page .)
Some of the great past Christian preachers and writers have influenced me deeply to blog and eventually bring these ideas from the blogs into a book.(Maybe more than one if the Lord allows). Some of these past Christian writers/preachers are A.W. Tozer, Leonard Ravenhill, and David Wilkerson. These three have had a deep prayer life and time in God’s Word. By these two factors men become Spirit-led men in proclaiming repentance and faith in the Lord.
Thank you to all for your readership, comments, encouragements, and prayers.
A new blog will be formed shortly. I will post here on Savor the Savior, Facebook and email on the new blog.

1 Corinthians 13:4-5 (New Living Translation)
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude…”
Driving by the Bijou Theater marquee sign, it advertised for a comedy show performance by Margaret Cho on Saturday night. Knowing risks I was taking, I prayed. I am aware of her bisexuality and political leanings. Yet, Jesus loves her and died for her just as he loves and died for me!
I was not going to pass out tracts if any of the Westboro Baptist Church idiots were going to be out in full adornment. They were not there to protest, holler, and yell. Thank you, Jesus! Their absence was an answered prayer.
The Lord pressed on my mind to quietly and lovingly pass out gospel tracts, ” on the sidewalk corner across from the theater. Knowing her audience would consist of GBLT persons, if I get into a conversation with anyone attending the show, I would NOT discuss gay issues. The Lord wanted me to give out gospel tracts asking people to put their faith in Jesus. Spurgeon was quoted as saying you will catch more flies with honey rather than vinegar.
There was opportunity to have some small talk with a gay couple. The kindly accepted the gospel tract and told them “God bless.” Reading the Bible, Jesus was very polite and loving with the unsaved. So I just modeled what he did, LOVE ON PEOPLE!
While I never got to personally meet Ms. Cho, I still prayed for those accepting the tracts and Ms. Cho to repent and put their faith in Jesus.
Here is the link for the gospel tract distributed last night:

It was the final concert of the 2010 year for Sundown. I met up with Tim Weakley and a group of other believers in Krutch Park to pass out tracts, visit with the young crowd, and open air preach. When I open air preach, I majority of the time just read straight from the Bible with little exposition of the text.(when explanation of a word or meaning is needed or to put in today’s language or relate-able events.) It was totally the Lord for me to share the Word without preparation. The Holy Spirit gave me the words to speak to the listeners and passer-bys.
Most of the tracts I handed out were from Carl K. out of TX.(He gives me tracts in a business card style format. Easy to carry, durable, and the gospel message on the back of the card.)
Towards the end we had a unique encounter with a unsaved college man. Tim talked to him while another lady in our group and I continued to open-air. The Holy Spirit was working with Tim, then the enemy attempted to interrupt Tim with a Hyper-Charismatic young man. The man was only doing what he had been brought up in the Pentecostal church he attends. He pushed Tim out of the way to talk to the unsaved kid. The over Hyper pentecostal jargon and Word of Faith jabberings this man gave to the kid was not biblical.
Then the Lord brought to my mind Pastor Mark’s sermon from last week on Speaking in Tongues. He said we don’t speak in tongues in a normal morning service or do things that would frighten, scare, or turn off an unbeliever or frustrate a non-Charismatic believer in the Lord. God is not the author of confusion and fear. God had allowed me to see what Mark was preaching about in action.
All we could do was pray for the unsaved kid and his friends plus for the Hyper Pentecostal kid to shut up and move on. The kid would not let up till he conviced this kid he needed to have faith to start speaking in tongues. Luckily the Sundown concert was over and the Lord used a cop to shout out in the park, “Show is over, everyone needs to leave” Well it was an answered prayer to get this hyper-pentecostal kid to stop interrupting what the Holy Spirit was already doing. Yet, we believe God’s Word does not comeback void and hopefully we shall have another opportunity to see the unsaved kid again and share Jesus with him without the interruption of Hyper-Pentecostals.
The Hyper-Pentecostal man was trying to act out the flesh the workings of the Holy Spirit. This goes against what Scripture teaches in Zech. 4:6 “NOT by might, nor by strength, but BY MY SPIRIT says the LORD OF HOSTS!”
Now just trust the Lord in the seeds to take root in those lives the Lord allowed us to encounter!

I prayed for no rain in the evening around Market Square. My prayer was answered as God held back the rain for me to hand out Gospel tracts. I started on one end of the Square and gave out some tracts. Then I went to the other end of the square and gave out……you guessed it….more tracts. Then proceeding to Gay Street, I did something……wanna guess???? I handed out more tracts.
There will be opportunities to have neat adventure stories. The other times is just planting seeds(tracts) in the soil(people). Did I encounter any demon possessed people? I might have and the demons might have just been mellowed out for the evening and were told by God to give me a break tonight after the car trouble and sickness I have the past few weeks prior. It is nice to be able to have a smooth evening once in a while.
Many of you may be thinking I act like those idiot “sign guys” yelling out at people and just give out judgments without grace and salvation of Jesus. No way indeed. That is not me, and I try to stay away from those guys if I am in the same area sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In golf, the instructors tell their students to “follow-thru” on their golf swing. If you want to make the golf ball go far, you must do a full swing to allow for maximum impact.
Many of the guys you have seen with the “God hates fags” signs and just give out judgments, do not give a full gospel “follow-thru”. They stop at the judgments on people and entice people into a “legalistic religiosity” which is not “Biblical Christianity.”
As I look how Jesus preached to the masses, He always preached in love while he spoke truth. The only times he got miffed was at the religious leaders for misusing their positions of power to keep people under their thumbs with religious rituals.
I want to mimic my Jesus. I want to share with the world around me(Right now it is Knoxville and to an extent the Internet.) what they must do to be saved from being found guilty under the Ten Commandments and suffer eternal punishment in Hell. It is simply “Repentance(Turning away from selfish evil lifestyles)” and “Faith(trust) in Jesus for their salvation. With God’s help, I treat others with respect and courtesy. It does not mean I water down God’s Word. Biblical love is done truthfully.
I have previously wrote about sign guys. I do not want to lump ALL guys using signs in gospel presentations as bad or non-biblical. Sign people, whose presentations have the complete follow through of the Gospel I respect as brothers and sisters. Follow-thru is very important in Gospel presentations. Without the grace following the law during evangelistic outings, it becomes just as bad as those watering the Word with a feel good message.
So today’s word is: Follow-thru. It makes Gospel presentations clear and effective when done in the power of the Holy Spirit.

2 Corinthians 5:20 (New Living Translation)
So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!
If you want to see sinners repent and place their faith in Jesus, then we need to bring the church to the sinner. Many in the church have it backwards, build a church and the sinner attend. It may happen. Yet according to the Great Commission, we are told by Jesus to “Go into the world.”
If you are a Christian believer, then you are commanded by Christ to share the Good News of Jesus Christ to all people. 155,000 people die each day. Many without repenting and placing their faith in Jesus. What are you doing about it? You may say….”I leave it to the preacher and those called to evangelism.” However, the commandment Jesus gave before ascending into Heaven was for every believer to share and preach the Gospel. So the only way you can be excluded from this is if you are not a believer.
I’m not implying you should become a Billy Graham and hold crusades, unless the Lord tells you. You daily go out into the public via your job, recreational facilities, events, ball games, etc., so you have a field God has given you to tend. I will say in the area of you job, do the job you were hired. You can witness by your work ethic and during your lunch break or off the clock you can witness personally to your co-workers.
After church services, I went out to the mall for some fishing(street evangelism). I purposefully dropped the million dollar bills on the ground. In one instance, I saw a group of college age kids pick up the bill. One guy started reading the tract. He then passed it on to his friends. One bill tract was read by seven kids. Pray for these college kids.
In another situation after I dropped a bill, a high school kid picked the bill up read the gospel message and in disgust threw it back on the ground. It was momentarily picked up by a young grade school kid. Then his dad grabbed it out of his hands. The dad read the back and in a huff he tore the bill up and threw it in the garbage. Now you may say, that was a waste of a tract. However, two men read the gospel message. It cut them in the heart and offended them. Yet, only after time the seeds which were planted will take effect. Over time they will either grow bitter towards the Gospel or it will “bug the tar” out of them til they realize their need for repentance and a Savior. Yet, when they die and stand before the Lord, God will ask them why the rejected the Gospel message. It may have been their only opportunity to know Christ before dying. Just as scripture says:
Romans 1:20 (New Living Translation)
For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Do not expect immediate conversion at point of impact. Just like gardening, it takes time to see the results. Even though time is growing short and God will enter time and space. He will say time is up. Everyone will have to give an account of why they did or did not repent and place their faith in Christ.
Share Jesus with others while the clock is ticking and let us bring as many people to Heaven. The more the merrier.
