Jesus was not a Socialist(updated)

April 16, 2009

I will come out and say it. Jesus was not a Socialist.  Socialism and its extreme form Communism are ideas that intentually and purposefully leave out God and make government god(note small “g”).  One may bring up the book of Acts and how many came together and shared with each other.  HOWEVER! Many socialist and liberals fail to remember how due to this event, they went broke and Paul had to take up a offering in I Corinthians 16:3 to help the church in Jerusalem because they stoped working. Paul through God’s Spirit was explaining how those who work  will eat and have their needs met. Paul did help them although a verbal chewing out was needed to  get the church in Jerusalem back on their feet and get back to work to support themselves and their familes.

(UPDATED)Why the church or Jesus are not Socialist? Socialism is  forced by the Government. In the books of Acts, the money was given FREELY and by the Church.

Bible interpretation can be taken out of context by anyone. One can truly never understand the Scriptures unless they allow the Holy Spirit to teach them and guide them into God’s Word.

    Rob,

I really enjoy reading your Savor the Savior (blog)? I am not really into the computer so either have to have Bonnie or your Mom come and set me up.

You do such a good job with explaning and I can tell that it comes from the Holy Spirit. Keep up the good work and know that I, as well as the prayer group will be praying for you.
