Hosea 6:1-3 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)

Hosea 6

A Call to Repentance

 1 Come, let us return to the LORD.
    For He has torn [us],
    and He will heal us;
    He has wounded [us],
    and He will bind up our wounds.    2 He will revive us after two days,
    and on the third day He will raise us up
    so we can live in His presence.

    3 Let us strive to know the LORD.
    His appearance is as sure as the dawn.
    He will come to us like the rain,
    like the spring showers that water the land.

Personal revival has been a topic in the recent events of my life. I came across two books. One was out of print and only available through someone on Ebay and the other I found in a used bookstore.  What was amazing was both discussed “personal revival.”  I attained these books at different time frames. The first book had “personal revival” as the title, the second has the same words in the pages of the book.(I did not plan for this subject in purchasing both books, it has definately been the Lord.)

The above scripture is used in the second book I am reading, “Downpour”, by James MacDonald. The minor prophets are really good spiritual food for the soul. These few verses pack a punch. It should cause any drifted away or complacent in religiousity believer to take serious the condition of where he/she has sinned against the Lord.  The Lord deisires to finish and complete what he has began in us. Yet, for some of us, it may require some reconstuctive spiritual surgery. While surgery is never fun, it is necessary to remove the cancer of sin from our lives. He will heal us.

Our faith in the Lord does not stop the day we accepted him in our lives. It is a daily and life continual relationship.  Have you taken the effort to get in His Word to see what He has planned for you? He desires to pour our his water of the Spirit and the Word for our dry and thirsty body, mind, and soul. Nothing else will satisfy, only God offers living water.
